East Riding Youth Brass Band – Opens its doors to new players
The East Riding Youth Brass band is joining forces with Driffield Silver Band and are sharing DSB’s rehearsal space in Nafferton Village Hall, the first rehearsal will be Friday 19th November.  The Youth band will rehearse 1 hour before DSB and 6 or so DSB players are going to be there throughout the rehearsal to support the Youth Band.  There is also a newspaper and social media campaign to invite new players along.

Donation of a Besson Cornet
Rob Searby,  whose family have had close ties with the band’s cornet section and also conducting, has very generously donated his Besson cornet, 5 mouthpieces and 2 mutes to the band.  Thank you Rob.

Saturday 25 September Rob Dawson Memorial and Celebration Concert – Rix Pavilion Driffield
On Saturday 25 September both Driffield and Hunmanby Silver Bands will be performing as a massed band in a concert that will celebrate the Life of Rob Dawson who was the Principal Euphonium player in both Bands.  The concert will be held in the Rix Pavilion on Driffield Showground.  All are welcome to attend.  There will be refreshments available and a retiring collection.

DSB Returning to Rehearsals latest update
After the Priminister announced his 4 stages of recovery on the 22nd February 2021 Driffield Silver Band are hoping to return to full rehearsals from 14 May 2021.
